How to change your password

Replace the password from account settings and use a new, unique credential.

If you know your current password and want to replace it, use the password-change function available in your account settings.

Enter the current password when requested, choose the new password and confirm it. Prefer a unique password that you do not use on other services.

After changing it, update any saved passwords in your browser or password manager so you do not keep using the old one.

If you do not recognise a password change or can no longer sign in with the correct credentials, do not treat it as an ordinary error: follow the compromised-account procedure.
