Stereo reverb has little value if the rest of the rig collapses immediately to mono. MIDI becomes useful for preset recall, tempo sync or parameter automation. Expression inputs can provide continuous control over mix, feedback, pitch or other parameters. Compare these features against the amplifier, switcher or interface you actually use.

Used guitar pedals: test the wear points

Start with the footswitches, potentiometers, jacks and power connector. A pot may scratch only while moving or have dead spots; a loose jack can cut the signal when the cable shifts. On digital pedals, test the display, encoders, USB or data ports, preset memory and every output.

Velcro and finish marks are often cosmetic. Extra holes, circuit modifications, power conversions and previous repairs are more important because they affect originality, serviceability and future reliability.
