Make a simple, well-grounded counteroffer
If the offer is close but not sufficient, reply with a concrete figure.
You can briefly explain why: condition, included accessories, an already competitive asking price or costs connected with the sale. There is no need to defend the item’s value through a long argument.
A good counteroffer communicates:
- how far you are prepared to move;
- what remains included;
- whether delivery terms change;
- whether the figure is genuinely sustainable for you.
Avoid an endless sequence of tiny reductions. Once you reach your limit, state it clearly.
