In-person purchase: pay after completing the agreed test

For an in-person purchase, agree on the location, price and payment method in advance. Once you meet the seller:

1. verify that the item matches the listing;
2. check the serial number and accessories where relevant;
3. complete the agreed test;
4. clarify any differences that emerge;
5. pay only after deciding to complete the purchase.

Do not arrive feeling obliged to buy regardless of what you find. If the gear differs materially from the description, you can renegotiate or walk away.

Keep proof of payment and a record of the transaction.
