Be cautious with unnecessarily complicated procedures
A trade is already more complex than a sale because two items are involved.
Avoid adding unnecessary steps:
- links received to “unlock” a cash adjustment;
- couriers arranged by third parties without a clear process;
- separate payments that were not agreed;
- requests for security codes or credentials;
- sudden changes of recipient.
The further the process moves away from what was agreed, the more important it is to stop and verify.
