Value your own item before receiving offers
Before negotiating, build an independent valuation of your item.
Consider:
- model and version;
- condition;
- originality;
- modifications;
- accessories;
- comparables;
- demand;
- any costs needed before resale.
Write down a realistic range and, if useful, a minimum threshold.
Do not suddenly increase your item’s value merely because the other party is using a high valuation. It is more useful to bring both products back to comparable market references.
