Final checklist for buying used musical gear
Before completing the purchase, check:
- [ ] Have I identified the exact model and version?
- [ ] Do I know the total cost, not just the listing price?
- [ ] Have I checked the seller’s profile and consistency?
- [ ] Do the description and photographs show important condition issues and defects?
- [ ] Do I know which modifications and repairs have been made?
- [ ] Do I know exactly which accessories are included?
- [ ] Have I tested the gear or obtained targeted remote verification?
- [ ] Is the price coherent with the model and condition?
- [ ] Are the price, defects, accessories and delivery terms recorded in writing?
- [ ] Do I understand the payment method and any applicable protection?
- [ ] Will I inspect the item promptly after delivery and keep the documentation?
If any essential point remains unclear, resolve it before transferring money or treating the purchase as complete.
