Before pricing: identify model, version and year

Before searching for prices, establish exactly what you are valuing.

Check the full model name, variant, year or production period, country of manufacture, finish, configuration, hardware revision and original accessories. Serial numbers, labels, rear panels and documentation can help distinguish products that look very similar.

This matters because a broad search can mix genuinely different items: a reissue with an original, a standard version with a limited edition, or an early pedal revision with a later one.

If you cannot identify the exact variant confidently, state that uncertainty and use more conservative comparables. A precise price attached to the wrong model is still a poor valuation, even if the arithmetic is flawless.
