Guitars and basses: strings, fingerboard and surfaces after use

Perspiration and residues accumulate particularly on strings, fingerboards, bridges and areas touched by the hands and arm.

After use, a dry cloth on strings and frequently touched areas reduces build-up. During a string change you can clean more thoroughly, choosing products compatible with the fingerboard material and finish.

Do not automatically apply oils to a fingerboard; some materials and finishes do not require them. Follow manufacturer guidance or reliable technical information for the specific instrument.
