Compare examples with similar levels of originality
In vintage valuation, the quality of a comparable matters more than the number of listings.
If your example has a refinish, structural repair, replaced transformers, different pickups or a new cabinet, look for sales with similar characteristics.
When direct comparables do not exist, use several groups: original examples, modified examples and relevant parts/components. The uncertainty range should become wider.
Do not use the record price of the best example as the automatic baseline for every item in the same series.
