Acoustic and semi-hollow instruments: inspect structure, not only setup

On acoustic and semi-hollow instruments, unusual changes in action or intonation may accompany structural movement.

Inspect the bridge, top, joints, binding, neck and any new cracks or openings. Do not automatically treat every seasonal movement as a defect, but document changes that continue to progress.

If cracks, separation or obvious deformation appear, avoid aggressive setup changes that may mask the issue and have the structure assessed.
